TRADITION. MUSIC. MEN’S SONG.

More than just an amateur choir

The Estonian Academy of Sciences Male Choir has been active in Tallinn since 1958, united by a love of choral music, a patriotic spirit and long-standing traditions.

We value good music and a high artistic standard, but just as important are the joy of singing, friendship and the experiences we share.

I am glad that ETAM is alive and active. It remains a strong concert choir of high quality. Times have been very difficult for male choirs and continue to be so for many. ETAM too has faced serious periods of crisis and questions about how long its story could continue. That is why I am especially pleased that we can now look forward to the choir’s 70th anniversary with confidence. That is a very important achievement!

Andrus Siimon

Singing is the best change of pace from work and everyday life. A choir has a completely different atmosphere and sense of community – the body and mind can finally relax. Choral singing is a form of education: it adds colour to life and broadens your horizons enormously.

Martin Siimer

Singing in a choir is more than just an enjoyable hobby. It is standing shoulder to shoulder – something close to a bond of brotherhood.

Meelis Liivak

In a choir, everything depends on us: our sense of duty and responsibility, our commitment and, ultimately, our sincere wish to enjoy good music together. I am always happy to come to them and give the very best I have to offer.

Igor Nikiforov
